Can anyone help?
doing some more work on a project I started 2 years ago and got left when other stuff come along now decided it has to be finished!! problem is I am struggling with the wireing, been told the e30 is not a lot different from the e28 so was hoping anyone thats contemplated the swap and done some searching or anyone thats done the swap maybe can help?? been searching and cant find a thing on tinterweb thingy!! :cry: :cry:

must of been the E28 bit that threw me....

I'm assuming that's the 3.5 ?

Basically the same engine apart from displacement.

The blocks are based on M30 and are exactly the same as S14 engines with 2 extra cylinders.

That will be the one! been sat in the corner of my garage waiting for me to get motivated and finish it, well now the time has come winkeye just having a nightmare with electrics but Ian332isport has jump in and said he may be able to help so all is not lost!

I have spoken to Karen and he has said Ian may be able to help so thanks guys will see what happens soon.

The engine wiring on all pre EWS BMWs is all contained within the engine loom, and although the multipin connectors look daunting at first sight, all they need to get the engine running are a connection to battery positive (red) and battery negative (brown or brown/orange = earth), a feed from the ignition switch (green), a feed to the starter motor (black/yellow), and a feed out to the fuel pump (green/purple).
Everything else is more or less instrumentation.
