Hi just bought this motor 6mnths ago what can i do to her to smarten her p shes a 1991 318is in brilliant redish/pink with 325i lump i have a limited budget just need a few hints ty

Get a porter cable and zaino, that will change it from pink to a lovely red.

Also saying that is worth a ban.

too late, he just said it's already got a m20b25 in it mate.
the chain on the m42b18 probably snapped.

Why is it such a travesty to replace the m42?

Does it run? IF it does, then it's somewhat unlikely to be the 318iS ECU. :P

if you mean ecu it should have it in there, should be located under the steering column.

it just feels abit sluggish ad has some problems with flatspots it doesnt pull like i thought it would

danny boykk, buy an m3 fit your god forsaken 2.7 and watch the value plummet faster than the speedo gets to 5mph!
you wont touch my m3 with an m20.. do you not realise that the S14 is a FAR superior engine.. the fact it was used in motorsport from it's first and last creation? obviously a 12v 6cyl is better
