What is involved in changing a 3.23 LSD diff internals from an E36 M3 evo up to a higher e.g. 3.64 LSD ratio. In detail please as im a bit of a mechanical noob.

If you are a 'mechanical noob'leave well alone!!Best option is to sort out a complete diff of the spec you want and swap that in.

There is no other compatible diff on the evo. If you told me what to do I could give it a try, I mean how hard can it be, unbolt diff from car, open diff change gear/sprocket over and torque to correct, fill up with royal purple and then rebolt on car - but I need to know the specifics.

Requires specialist knowledge, skills and equipment. Even changing the pinion seal requires a special procedure.

Having just had a LSD diff fully rebuilt with new ratios I can assure you it's a skilled job.

My costs were £250 on top of the LSD unit and the CWP.

So overall £400+ was spent, bear in mind they normally go for around the £250 mark, so I'd buy another.

( I need a ratio that I couldn't find anywhere with a LSD, hence why I spent the money )

HTH, Mark.
