For my old man he has a 335i (E92 new 3 series) not these older big sixes you bung into e30's ;)
Whats the best way to convert the single exhaust each side to a double twin exhaust so its like an e93 m3 quad exhaust style?

The only way I can see is if you go to a to someone like powerflow or maybe the new magnaflow exhausts in redditch and get them to fabricate one.
Word of warning though there isn't much room underneath and you would probably void the car warranty
I suggest waiting for the AC Schnitzer exhaust to be released as the warranty would not be affected

kos, this is a turbo'd engine, so changing the exhaust will have an affect on the turbo's somehow. Therefore, given the reliability of BMW turbo's (albeit there's been no problems with these engines as of yet) if it came to claiming on warranty and the exhaust system had been changed, BMW would not pay for the fault, and trust me, it wont be cheap

best for the owner to do his own checking on it any way

One of the pipes (I think the left) has a flap inside to close it off under certain conditions such as warm up and i think over-run aswell (it's in the tailpipe) this flap is controlled by the DME so if you fit a none-approved system without this jobbie the exhaust operation/effeciency will be affected! 
Some dealers are o.k. With exhaust and air filters etc. I brought a brand new 330ci from when it was bridgegate in derby and before I took delivery I got them to fit a full scorpion exhaust and air filter and they where fine with it. Never had any problems when servicing or warranty issues.
