Been a member here for a while, thought I'd introduce myself.

I'm from little old New Zealand, already recognised a few names from bimmersport.co.nz on here!

I have an '87 M325i, you guys call them Sports as far as I'm aware

Here's a few pics. In the next few day's I'm considering swapping the tech1 boot spoiler for a tech2 one I have.

BBS RS 3 piece split rims are going on once they have rubber on them :D

Cheers,
Emma

Tech 2 spoiler is a bad idea imo, doesnt suit the Tech 1 kit.

BBS rims however are

I've got both spoiler's chilling at home, so the tech1 can always go back on :)
Over on this side of the world, a few of the pre f/l NZ Sports came from factory with tech 2 rear spoilers which suprised me, I imagine it was during the manufacture overlap between the pre f/l and facelift models.
But yes, the BBS rims should look the business!

welcome to the zone, also second the above that tech 2 spoiler will not suit the tech 2 kit. Our Bmw's here come from Japan (as i was under the impression yours did too) and yes some mixing and matching of spoilers is common, but you have a nice original looking tech 1 sport there, no need to ruin it by swapping parts about. the rims are very nice and should look somthing like this with rubber on

Haha argh ok ok I've had this response to the tech2 plan a few times now... time for a rethink... the tech1 can stay for a while on 2nd thoughts!
It's a NZ New Sport, no JDM stz here ;)
I can't wait to get the RS's on, they've been off getting prettied and polished.

Sweet car you have there... :D

Those BBS's will look the Bee's B0llocks when they are one and the car will be totally transformed 8) 8)

Have to agree - keep the Tech1 on....it's of the period and really suits the stance of the Tech1 sports.

Nice one Emma and look forward to seeing it with its shiny new shoes

Regards,

Bruce.

Nice car.

If you were looking to keep the purist theme going, you'd have factory bbs on there. Seeing as you're putitng those deep dish beauties on, I'd not be too concerned about purism. As you said, you have both spoilers, try it out and see for yourself. Your car, do whatever pleases you!!

I was looking for factory BBS when I found the RS's, I'd been on the lookout for months, they just DON'T come up for sale over here.

Some noob prior to me owning the car had put the 17" current mags on it. I really don't like them, but the rest of the car was in perfect cond, so wasn't going to let that put me off obviously!
Went from a 316 e36 to this, sooooo much more fun. LSD ftw.

Oakey- care to flick me a piccy or two?

Had a serious re-think on the tech2 tonight. I agree it doesn't really go with the angular design of tech1. Dammit! Would look better if the tech1 grooves on the lower edge were filled, but that's going a bit far maybe.

Car's going into the paint shop next week for some tidy-up. Losing all the little pin dents and kit is being resprayed completely, New Zealand stony seal is the devil for stone chips on kit and skirts.

While its in the shop, the front and rear seats are going away to be half leathered, bolsters and edges will be done in black leather etc.

Can't help throwing money at the things can we!
