Total Closure Alarm for Sunroof?
Moderator: martauto
I am having a total closure alarm fitted - ok, so I don't really need it I know, but it will look the dogs when the windows go up at the press of a button!
But, the installers are telling me it's not advisable to have the sunroof module on a tilt/slide sunroof. Has anyone out there had it done, and has it shagged your s/r motor? I'm more of a tilter than a slider...
Thanks!
Thanks!

yes they do.... laserline and scorpion do sunroof modules for electric sunroof tilt slide...about Ԛ£100 each fitted when having alarm fitted. i know i had one on my old e30 320i... a proper pain to fit though i do belive .. look good though shame my touring hasn't got electirc sunroof... though i do have full closure.... lookd the b******cs when you arm it..
the problem i had with a scorpion is if the roof was closed the full closer didnt know this so it opened it so i had the roof closer removed to much hassle can be done though but you need to spend more cash which could be spent on somthing on the car it really needs
Thanks, I'm not having it done for the hassle it will cause, although the sunroof is what i tend to leave open anyway! Being fitted thursday, so fingers crossed. Am definitely having the perimeter sensor though, a friend of mine had a Ԛ£4 set of valve caps and some little fcukers tried nicking them, ruining all 4 tyre valves in the attempt!
He's had to shell out on some recessed valves, plus having to fix the damage they caused! What's the world come to! Flush valves will look sweet tho. Anyone crouches near mine next week, it'll beep at the b*st*rds!

i cant see how that can happen... open you sunroof when you arm your alarm... bazzar. i can only think that A. it was faulty or B. it wasn't fitted right. ive had these on all my cars that have had electric tilt and trim and touch wood never had any problems like that.. [/quote]
