AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGHHHHH!!!

that was without a doubt the worst job i have ever done, bought my cab and the previous owner thought it would be godd to stick a telly in there, and not in the stereo slot but above where the hazzard lights are. so he cut a huge hole in the dash to accomplish this. this naturally buggers the sh1t out of me so i decided to tackle the dash change, on my own in a day!

i went from this :D to this :x then eventually to this

never never again will i do that!!! results are fantastic (except for a ripped trim on the A pillar) and gave me the chance to do a spring clean with seats out. If anyone snould be so crazy that they want to attempt this i will advise via PM

Actaully thats true could do another in a few hours more of a technique thing, and if i do it again i may find a place for all the extra and obviously not required screws, nuts, bolts washers and plastic clips that i now have in a plastic bag!!!

I want to do something like eventually (when I get a spare weekend and if I decide to keep this car) to my 323i. Maybe not a dash change, mine is still in fairly good(ish) condition, but I want to make sure everything is done up tight and it is all put together properly so it doesn't rattle. The previous owner had parts of it out to fit the audio equipment he had (took it out before he sold it) and the place that "fixed" the air conditioning (worked for about 3 weeks :( ) had parts of it out too and I don't think either of them put it back together properly.

Sounds like a not so nice job to have to do though, so I might as well just buy an E30 M3 that is in better condition  .

trust me its hard enough getting the proper dash in there! never mind an E36 dash.

oh yeah for info the cab dash is different from the roofy car dash as cab has extra brace across the front so some creative hacksawing was required.

As for the squeaks yes they are there and the rattles are probably the extra screws and stuff in the ashtray!

And if anyone wants to pay for a flight bahrain-heathrow-bahrain and provide me with beer and a garage i'll do your dash!
