Could anyone tell me if I can upgrade the brakes on my 316i e30 from solid to vented disc as on the 320i and above models?
1) Will the larger brake callipers fit to the original hubs?
2) Will the larger vented disc fit the original hubs?

I think they will fit the hubs as they are all the same part number . and you will need new calipers too.
vented ones are deeper and wider!
but im not sure if the master cilinder needs replacing to pump more fluid into the calipers.
why do you want better brakes? Do they fade after heavy use?
I just replaced my solid discs and pads, and my brakes are kick a$$ (no abs)

I am pretty sure they will, if you are buying the discs and calipers anyway, you are better off using the 325i legs (same brakes as the 320i) but with bigger shock housings 51mm vs 46mm(??), so that if you wish at a later time you can upgrade to E30 M3 shocks which will fit straight introtter wrote:Could anyone tell me if I can upgrade the brakes on my 316i e30 from solid to vented disc as on the 320i and above models?
