Does anyone know that, if I went to BMW and asked to track down a car we used to own, that they would be able to do that for me or not?
We used to have a 1995 M3 3.0 saloon and I loved it, I would like to trace it and see if it is still alive! It was white and I've never seen another one like it because it was alledgedly a disgusting colour combo!
We bought it from an independent specialist and then part chopped it in 3 yrs later as a deposit on a 530d (and dad has regretted it ever since!)
Is this possible?

A reg check from the RAC is a great start. That will hint at whether the car is still registered for road use.
If you know a copper or someone who works in insurance or for the DVLA, you could lean on them for a favour.
There are some grey issues with data protection here though... If the dealer is friendly they may quietly let you know the road the car 'may' be found on. Unless it has been sold again.

Hehe, yeh I thought so, and it's fair enough that the information is private - I wanted to know if it was still about so RAC is a good call.
