Time for an update. The panels that have been repaired are now primed and the remaining body kit clips have been removed so now its gonna be left for a week for any sinkage in the filler and for the primer to go properly off before its blocked down and the first coats can go on. Ordered some more clips today and the Mtechnic decals that go on the spoiler and body kit but have been told that they are on back order so fingers crossed. I also tried to order the tyre pressure and under bonnet warning stickers but they are all discontinued  so i may try to get these reproduced by someone. Anyway, here's some more pics.

The yellowy stuff on the panel is a wipe on etch primer that goes on to the bare metal before the primer goes on.

Thanks for all the comments fellas, it makes all the effort worth it!

SHAKEELE30 its getting done where i work, Bodymatters, Renault Factory bodyshop, Beddington Cross Ind Est, Croydon.

Simon13, Pretty much the whole of the car is being painted including the door, boot and bonnet shuts, backs of the doors, sunroof appature, kit etc. The only parts not being painted is the back of the bonnet and boot as they are mint. Why did you ask about the roof? is it because it has not been primed? If so its because only the panels which have recieved repairs in filler have been primed. The rest will be blocked down with 800.

Here's a pic of the Mtechnic decals i have ordered but have gone on back order.

bummer on the stickers, i will remember this with my car as they are all still on. Sorry i am noo expert on respays by any means or bodywork or welding

So those bits with filler are there because there are dents, imperfections in the panels? I thought all panels came off for a respray as your front wings are still fitted?

Si, the filler in the panels is for small dents some of which are hardly noticeable but i really want it perfect. Chack out the pics of the repairs before they were primed. I was thinking of removing the wings but was told not to as they haven't been off and it isnt nesesary.

Oz and B7, i dont think its gonna be ready for another 3-4 weeks now as i dont want to rush it so it wont be at the june meet but will be ready for the july one. Oz, whats happening with yours? Will its heart live on in another?

So you bringing the e46 then? I'm going to struggle with the e30, may have to bring the 36 :o: . The e30 isn't MOT'd at the moment and I've been so busy at work I've not had a chance to get it done. I'm away all next week which only leaves the Monday nd the Tuesday to get it sorted.

Take your time with it. It'll be well worth it in the end. Anything come of that Alpina e28?

325 i badge

Time for an update! The final prep work and aplication of paint on the body shell is done at last! :D
It has been painted with Ixel water based two pac paint which are Renaults own brand of paint and materials which i'm told are standox products with a different label if that make sense. The car has received 1 coat of wet on wet primer then 4 coats of diamond black base then 2 coats of lacquer. The remaining panels will be painted tommorow so the fitting up can beggin on sat! Here's some pics of the stages of the paint procces.
The sun roof appature primed and painted after the two surface scabs were seen to.

Prior to masking. The panels that have been repaired were given a coat of high build primer.

The final result which extremely happy with and what you see below is the finish straight from the gun which is good enough not need flatting and polishing just a couple of bits of debris that need nibbing out.

Was also due to pick up some black gutter trims today which were advertised for sale on the zone by someone (no names mentioned) as brand new unused but when i got to the guys address they turned out to be very second hand! :x Just have to pay out and get them from the stealers!
