They promise 6-13 hp, but has anyone dynoed it? I would like to see dyno results before buying.

Has anyone dynoed any of those chips sold by ZoneShop?

I don't think many will have dynoed their cars specifically to test the chip though I would guess it was done by Ant woodjetts when he developed the chips. The reality is this these chips are generally reckoned to be as good or better than anything else available for an e30. They don't give massive gains but nor does anything else on an e30 a custom remap would be better but probably only marginally and for much greater cost.

they make a lot of difference even if they dont give you that much extra 'peak' hp as they flatten the area under the curve and spread the power

Well, then I have to buy it and do the "before and after" test in the dyno. I'll post the resuls in here afterwards.

i say buy one!

i got a zone chip for my 325 and i loved it!

at first i was a bit confused as i expected more but it seemed to setle in and gett better and better!

it felt so good esspecially letting the revs build up from low down and now i am going to send that chip over to ant to see if he can remap it for the 3.5 m30 lump :D

make sure you tell us you opinions when its done winkeye

Btw, how much does ZoneChip raise the rpp-limiter? to 7000rpm?

I brought the wild chip a month ago for my sprint car fantastic, regularly hit 7000 rpm, excellent mid range. Just do it

it should give you slightly more power and a better pull through the revs.

also better Throtle response! getting it mapped would cost mega £Â£Ã‚£Ã‚£Ã‚£Ã‚£!

The chips for sale through the Zone shop are not Ant's.

Ask the supplier for the before / after data.

OH HAVE THEY CHANGED THEN? they used to come from him I just assumed they still did.

Interesting thread. It would be nice to get some hard data print outs made up. They're always subjective to car/engine, software versions, fuel and dyno but it still would be nice to see some independent data on paper (internet)

The old skool zone chips are sold by Ant now (PM him), not sure on the spec of the ones in the Zone shop but they are using a new supplier I believe, unless they are still running down old stocks. Ant used to program the zone chips and supply the zone shop but for one reason or another that has ended now.

I have the Ant chip (old zone chip) in my sport, the bum dyno definatly noticed a difference, They are tried and tested with many + remarks by zoners for quite some time now.

yeah i know, i got a load of mates into their focus's recommended torque of the devil, said he could get it for me between 300 and 450, dunno if its worth it on such an old car though, and wether it would really make that much of a difference.

I'm sure aint stopped doing them for the iS years ago because there was too many variations with different M42s.

Your all guessing at what we sell.

The ones Ant did are exactly the same as what we do now + even more variation.

318iS Chips are not sold by Ant last time I checked. We have all of the software versions for ALL 318iS's and every other BMW which is remapped via a chip change + we remap even the latest BMW's and pretty much everything on the market.

Some M52 conversions will be mapped by us through the OBD port in the very near future.
