As it is only the passenger side, I am hoping that it is the connector to the cluster. I will check the earthing point last as I believe it is under the rear seats.
Anyone had any similar problems, and the most common causes?
Is it a BMW or a Ford?

After being flashed a couple of times last night, I decided to check my lights at the back properly, and When the headlights are on and the indicator, it looks like a Ford escort on the passenger side, flashing rear light with the indicator!

i had the exact same thing, pointed out by the police. i put slight pressure on the connection pins on the bulb holder panel thing to bend them slightly for a better connection and that worked.
