I finally got really involved with my cab and started to ressurect it. I took the seats out some time ago and that was the last thing i did since today. Im goin again tomorrow to do some more work on it and hopefully get some more body work done! :D

As of right now the driver side door is entirely off and about 14 hours of man work has been applied to it.

Image

Numerous other parts of the car had body work done to them including quater panels and the hood of the car. I also began removing the external lights on the car like the tailights and such to prep for body and paint work.

I attempted to remove the cd player, discconected it without a problem, but removing it was a b1tch!!! :x The last screw i went to unscrew managed to strip itself and then break inside the hole! 8O I can't belive it did that..... But i got much more ahead in work than knocked back. So im happy. Since i am a worker there (im only 14 and its my dad's shop) i had to prep 3 bumpers, and detail 2 cars while i wasnt working on my car. It my dad's very good friend shop so everyone is extreamly nice there and its a great atmosphere. Ill post more pics on the weekend if there are any other major changes.

Covert White Leader or something wasn't it...?

Thought we hadn't heard from you in a while. Funny thing is, I just ressurected the Banana Phone thing today!

Glad to see you're getting on with the convertible again! 8) Looks like it'll be real nice when it's done. Mind you, those alloys look like they'll need some work!

Giles.

US cabs came with that God awful 3rd brake light on the boot. Totally spoils it I think. Remove and smooth.

Looking good, keep up the good work, it's great to see a restoration project like this.

i dun wanna remove that brakelight as it is a permanent cord and there is a gaping hole when i remove it. I found out tho im keeping the bumpers cuz it would be way too much labor but in the future i will definitely change em for maybe an m-tech or something. I got really lucky and somone totalled a 325is and it has a fairly good motor in it which i can rebuild, the guys at the tow yard are givin it away to me for FREE! Plus it has the BBS rims on it which ill put my summer tires on them. The alloys i have right now tho ill use as winter tires, winter up here is a real problem as i live on a high hill.

Here are some pics of the 325is and the motor.

..................  wow im havin trouble with hosting this last image. Ill get it in eventually. Its a picture from the right side of the car of a view of the damage this sucker had. Thank god its not the car im restoring! However I think im gonna take pleanty of mechanical parts from it. Also i love the spoiler, i think ill take that off and paint it the red color my car is and pop it on the trunk.

Thanks a billion for the support! :D

I hope i can get new bumpers later tho for the car. Cant get em now as dad doesnt want me to and i dont have the abilities or resources.

Okay, I'll re-phrase that...

The trunk-lid (we call it a boot-lid over here) off the 325iS saloon will fit the convertible. So you don't have to have the thrid stop-light stuck on top of your existing one...

lol stupid me! Id take that "boot-lid" off the iS but my dad's friend decided to start on the body work on the trunk of my cab and i dont want him to get all disapointed after him working on it. I didnt even have control over when he started it as he thought he was doing me a favor lol.

Well i was planning getting a BMW as my first car but i had no idea it would be something as old as this. I was originally planning an e36 or e46 but for some reason when i found this e30 i completely fell in love with it.

Does anybody here live in the US trade off their original US spec chrome bumpers for euro chrome bumpers. If so id really like to know how difficult it is/was and how expensive it was(???:bling:???).

Also are most Euro parts compatible with US parts on e30s? Im thinking about buying some things from the Zone that are in the UK (xenon headlamps, clear indicators). Id really appreciate it if i could get this info! :D [/code]

Edit (over weeks later): dead post here.....
