You just push the other side and it opens.

oh ed - i found a 323 front badge for a tenner - should be here this week. i'm so excited!!

Was easy to do cut the bit out weld a new bit in
bit of grinding.

the guy hasn't called me back but to be honest, i'm going to keep the 323i.

it is in such good nick and once the few niggles have been sorted i think i will have a few more years easy/cheap motoring out of it...
