Hi, I got home after the southwest meet last Sunday and as I put the roof back up it went clonk and bang. The arm has been ripped out of the casting by the look of it. So any Ideas ???

Oh forgot to ask in my pm, did you get an uprated/improved motor on yours ?, this does seem to be the common failure with elec cab roofs

you don't get an uprated motor the new casing is a steel casting rather than suspect alloy

nothing as nothing had to be removed or altered bolted the plate on as it is made of steel and replaces the bit of the motorcase that breaks off everything worked again as it should

the top link is not working and with the other you have to take the motor out cut away the aperture and drill a load of holes and then put it all back together again...and it is still not as good as a steel top!

certainly does look simple ...do not know how much jasons case is just to buy to fit for yourself but i sent my motor to him and he did it for me for £90 including postage back .

The levers only slot into the gearbox one way so you just screw it back together with the back window folded for access and then get someone to slowly lower the window so it turns the gearbox so you can re-engage the motor.
The switches are located on the gearbox so the ECU knows where the roof is and should just work as normal.
There is NO nucleus.

Hi Raul

It will cost you around 150 to 180 to have this replaced, set up and "yowd be on ya way" the guys take about 2 hours to do it. My advice is ring Jason or his bro Bill.
Oh and dont forget to take some of your local brew!!!
I had to take some fine Zider, being frum Zummerset

Whilst I was there another fella was up from London town having his motor replaced too.

Go for it !!
