hi, i want to go from a 325 to a 335, whats involved?
is it a straight change over or do i have to change the wiring loom? i guess the ECI will need changing and engine mounts. also does anyone know who can do the job?

Phill...
Best way is probably to buy a donor car. An e34 535i.
You will need in addition an
E30 M3 Propshaft
Custom Mounts (see Group buy - Karan is having some made)
E28 Radiator
Electric Fan
Few other bits - Can't remember!
I'm doing this conversion too.
We will have twins!

I'll be the guinea pig!
If you taking it to Germany, get an E39 M5 engine put in!

Phil & Dave......I hate you I hate you I hate you!!! Your Tourings look like mine should, unfortunately mine has no M-Tech kit, poor paint, shagged bushes, no LSD (got one but not yet fitted), and to top it all I can't even get in mine!
One day I'll buy a house with a drive/garage, get myself a cheap run about and drop a beefier engine in whilst sorting out all the niggly problems. Then I'll re-mortgage the house and get a bare metal respray done.
Well I can dream...

BTW did you get my email Re crank nut and vibration damper ?
I think i'm going to have to buy a hub puller to get the vibration damper hub off,did you take yours off on your old E28 M30 that you stripped ?

yep got the mail
mine bloody fell off, that was the whole problem! it had got loose somehow and chewed up the woodruff key that locks it to the crank, i was lucky not do have damaged the end of the crank...
can you maybe lever between the front crankcase and the pulley? as it shouldn't be jammed on all that much.

On my old engine i've tried levering it off with two big screw drivers and giving it a hit with a hamer, but i don't want to be brutal with my new bottom end.
Which engine did your damper fall off ? The currant one ?

nah the first one. everything on that engine was buggered!
shouldn't be too worried about using a bit of force, crankshafts are very very strong! maybe use a blowtorch to heat the hub up a bit? if you're doing the seals anyway.

Phill, Karan is dropping an M5 lump into an E30 at the moment - any thing you need to know he'll be able to tell you.Does mean some modding with a ball pin hammer on the transmisson tunnell and the removal of the sound proffing in the tunnel as well, a different thermo housing is also required as well as uprated front suspention(can't remember what Karan is using?).Don't be put of by it all as it would be cool as fook when done, There was a link to a German 335i sight but for the life of me i can't remember it!!!!!!!!!!
