Hi guys, I've just sold my old Pontiac which will fund a respray on my cab. I looking to have a full respray in Lagoon Green, the cars original and current colour.
I'm just wondering has any one had a cab resprayed recentley? I know its a 'how longs a peice of string' kinda question, i would expect it to be a little cheaper to paint than a coupe/tourer? Just what does a decent job cost? Im not talking a bare metal job.
Also any one know any good bodyshops around Rutland/Leicester/Peterborough area?
Cheers, 1993 Lux cab.

I would have said that it being a cab it would cost as much if not more than a saloon or touring, far more masking work involved and time is more dollar than paint!
Expect to pay in excess of £1500, prep is key to good results and as I've allready said time is the big $$$'s
Go round a few places ask for ideas on price and while your there take a look at their latest ob for an idea of their quality.

How can it be more masking than a touring ? windows & roof down, sheet over the top, just quarter lights and windscreen to do. Eight windows on a Touring
I would have thought it would be cheaper.

I wouldn't goto some one who just masked the whole roof! I'd expect it to be removed with the lights and trim and bumpers and then new clips and screws used when putting it all back on!
If you just want spray over a quick job i expect it will be cheap(er).

I just sprayed my car for £25.
Took 9 hours (7 of them masking and rubbing down).
If I wanted a professional job I would expect them to take the windows and all trim out, replace all clips when re-fitting etc.
I would expect to pay 1-2000 for it.
With spray jobs, you really do get what you pay for.

Price also depends on what you are capable/willing to do yourself, as the others said most of the time is spent on prep work, if you take a lot of the trim etc off the car yourself before taking it in and even manage to sort some of whatever issues the car has it will cost you less at the bodyshop

Does respraying decrease the value of your car?
