As in the title - just speculating at the moment as I have no idea what they go for or where else to get one. Going to investigate the local scrappies next week...

tbh i dont really want the hassle of getting a whole car - I already have 2 unusable heaps on our shared drive and can't see a wrecked e36 going down too well with the neighbours
(smily aimed at them not you btw)

If you have a choice, go for an E34 5 series version of the engine. Make sure it's a M50 though, as early E34 525s had M20s.

Don't waste a M50B25 in an E34! Weigh the thing in.

LOL
At the moment I am just getting the info I need together before I make a decision, it's looking like my best option is to just sell both my useless cars as they are for a pittance and go without a car for a while

www.partsgateway.com - you could try the breakers on here, but they will probably be more expensive than an eBay one.

I still have the oil pump sitting on the shelf in my shed.
Seems a much easier (not to mention cheaper) way of getting your car mobile again.
I changed the pump on the M50 in my E30 last week with no problems. No more ticking on startup

Is that because you think e30 is so much better or just dislike e34 for some reason? I'm still half considering getting one, it's probably not as much fun to drive as e30, but probably a bit more comfy for 4 people and longer motorway trips. m50 must be better on fuel, too, even in a heavier car.Brianmoooore wrote:Don't waste a M50B25 in an E34! Sorry for hijacking the thread by the way

The E34 is a great car!
The E30 is much lighter and better handling

I do have one E34 525 amongst my collection of E30s. It's a perfectly good car for moving people up and down motorways in comfort, but rear passengers mustn't be too tall. It's not over blessed with rear seat leg room.casper8r wrote:Is that because you think e30 is so much better or just dislike e34 for some reason? Considering the weight and size of the thing, it's surprisingly agile and quick, but it just doesn't connect with your senses like an E30.
All E30s in good condition are excellant cars, but my M50B25 vanos engined E30 never fails to put a big wide grin on my face!
