Stop being a gypo and get an engine crane. You will get no where without one.

Just renting a crane's got to be easiest? You could drop the subframe & lift the shell over it, but moving it'll be interesting!

When used to frag cars, i unbolted the front and rear subframes and then just got the shell lifted leaving all the rinning gear and engine behind.
But then you have the problem of moving the engine.
Hoists are only £120 odd now, and they pay for themselfs. Go and buy one innit.

panel cutting, astravan... sounds like mine!!!
all you need for this is a hacksaw!!! took 5 mins cutting and the removal of the front bumper. we then just pushed the car backwards and reversed the van onto the engine.

you'll never get it into a E30 without some decent means of lifting.

we had use of a manitou once in my vauxhall days...4wheel steer rouight terrain forklift, best bit was driving over the calibra shell afterwards
think i might invest in a hoist soon, now i think of it if i bought one a couple of years ago it would have saved us alot of hassle by now...especially if i known some are only 140quid!

if you would have been a propper gypo you would have a flat bed trany van with "motorway maintance" sticker on it and a hyab
