How does the throttle pedal come out of the floor? Want to tackle a carpet change but dont want to break the hinged part of the pedal. Can't see any bolts through the floor from underneath either.

When I took the new carpet out of the donor car i jus snapped the pedal off at floor level. Don't want to do that now though.

IIRC it just clips to the body under the carpet (through the hole)

I'll check the loose pedal I have floating around in the garage.......

It's not actually intended to be removable without breaking it, but will usually pull out if rocked from side to side.

Got it out okay. As you say rock it from side to side and it does break free.

Thanks

So, it sounds like there is SOME risk in attempting to remove it, even if you use the right technique. And if it does break, are you completely screwed?

No; you simply ask your dealer for a new one.
Car is still completely drivable without it. I've done it many times when the carpet has been out for some reason or other.
