4300k is supposed to be the best for light output, 6000k will give you a blue tint.

Malc, Shut up :P

I think you are right with the 4300 being OE temp mate.

id always go for 6000s, theyre a crisp white light which has a slight bluish tint if seen from a distance, but not a silly obvious bright 'look at me' blue
cheers,

Higher the colour temp, the lower the light output (not to mention looking extremely council).

According to the advert for them in my local shop. HID's are not road legal unless used in projector style headlights equipped with some sort of wash/wipe mechanism.

Link to legal stuff

I think as long as you have your lights aligned properly and you check the beam pattern you will be unlikely to get in trouble over fitting them.

BMW outer headlamps are projector type, and many have wash/wipe systems (some even working), so no problem there.

Mine don't have wash wipe :(

But yes, a lot of e30's will be fine, no problems with mot or arsey policemen. I was just saying... after a lot of umming and ahhing it seems they have finally come up with a definitive 'this is, and this isnt' standpoint on aftermarket HID kits.
