Following Brians advice that my release bearing has gone, I am replacing my clutch.

I have removed the exhaust, prop and finally all the torx bolts holding the gear box on. I have a gap of about a cm wide between the gear box and engine but can't seem to separate the two!

Any ideas?

Thanks

Rich

Have you removed the hydraulic pipe that goes to the clutch slave cylinder?

Double check that you have removed all the bolts as there is one right at the top that you can't see and you will only be able to remove it using about 3 x 300mm extensions on your ratchet. Been there before myself thinking why the fcuk is this not coming apart??

if theres a 1cm gap appearing, it sounds liike all the bolts are off but the gear lever is still attached (I had this problem too) once this was removed the box almost fell off!

From what I can remember, you've got to remove the reverse switches, then under the car, theres a round bit (mine was white) with 2 notches poles apart, put 2 flat head screwdrivers in each notch and turn it anti clockwise to release the gear lever, theres also the selector bar thingamy which is held on by 2 c-clips and another bar which is bolted to the car which will stop the box going back any further.

That will probably sound like jibberish, I'm sorry
