Does anyone know the weight of a diff please ( large case diff ) as I have someone who asked me to price up delivery for my 3.73 open diff, and im not getting it off the car till i know its acceptable.

So..... if any1 has a diff lying on the garage floor, could you weigh it for me please and let me know how much it weighs? theres a beer in it for ya i promise! :wink:

I only just finished puttin one in , one thing i can tell you is that it was fookin heavy !

weight is approx 23kgs i think for a big diff. so postage will be around Ԛ£25.

EH??? 23Kg???? Jon, you normally know ur sh1t, so i wont argue too hard, but........ are you sure mate?????

Ive got 30Kg on a curling bar that i use daily, and theres no way i could curl the weight of a diff in the sets i do with my bar! I was thinking it was more than my curling bar @ 30kg.

Not argueing mate, coz u know i hold your expertise in high regard, but do u mind if i ask if u r sure??? :oops:

Curling bar is made for that tho Scott!

Diff isn't ideal shape for weight lifting so it will seem heavier.

Although I did think the big case ones were heavier than 23kg?

Dave, ive dont "standing rowing" with well over 30kg many times (with just a weight disc, no bar) so the shape isnt part of my quiery, but the diff does seem heavier than that.

i had on shipped last week.. i would say they are about 40kgs.. It cost me Ԛ£40 thru UPS next day

Thats nearer what i thought to be honest, i had a feeling it was knocking on 40kg, but i needed to be accurate for shipping.

The diff in the pic' is an LSD diff', it may be slightly heavier than an open diff'.
