well, today the 325 motor started for the first time in the 318 shell! id like to point out that i had to cut the bottom rad mounts off the d plate and put them on the g plate, and the header tank and fusebox holders! actualy,i dont think hardly anything at all is the same in the engine bay!! still, she's in!! cant decide wether to try and plumb the check light into the 318 loom? seeings how the dash and everything is out,any ideas how to make this easier?? also, how can i drop the complete rear end to put the diff and discs on mine? is it just the two bolts underneath?? thanks alot for all ya help, she started and no major probs..........well,give it time!

You can change the whole rear beam just by removing the two bolts and the rear diff mount, plus brake pipes, handbrake cables and wiring of course, but it's a pretty hefty lump to manouver around in one piece.
If the 325 domor had a check light system, and the 318 didn't, then you will have to change over most of the looms in the car to get it to work. Not too difficult if everything is already stripped out.

the only problem is that the 318 has central locking & electric sunroof and the 325 doesnt,so i'd have to plumb them in,or would that all be in there?? cheers

Electric roof is a completely seperate loom, and i'm fairly certain locking is as well, although I,ve never seen an E30 without central locking.
