Doddy how did you do that, did you use c20let turbo/manifold/inlet on a c20xe or god forbid a x20xev?

Isn't the compression slightly higher on those engines?

Turbo definatly. Try and source a BBR manifold, these are a very nice log type manifold that has good access to spark plugs.

i dropped a c20let engine(the whole lot) in it with a hks intercooler uprated oil cooler etc
was good for 350bhp

yeah i would also have to say turbo, the m20 engine responds very well to slapping a turbo on it without having to spend big money on engine internals, obviously there is going to be a bit of graft involved if you are doing it your self, but most parts for the conversion are quite available, you just have to know wehere to look and what to use parts from, ive ended using a lot of ford parts and a few cosworth bits to get mine moving.

isnt turbo'd easier for power upgrades in future? and do you get the loud dump valve hiss from supercharged.thats got to swing it on its own but im also biased :D

i say it depends on what you want form the car.
Turbo will give you the highest gains, but can be a little tuffer to tune
Supercharger on the other hand will give you more linier power (easier to tune and gives more low end power) but harder to get big power.

Of corse you also have to think about what type of supercharger you are looking to use. Roots chargers are very different in the way they give there power then say a centrifugical (sp?) charger. and that is totaly different then a twin screw. You really should sit down deside what you want as far as power and were you want that power. also consiter that you may want to go bigger in the future. With a turbo you can fiddle with boost controlers and with a supercharger you can change the pulley size.

I like superchargers thou, granted there is more suport for the turbos.

Supercharge would be my preferred option for a road car.
