ive got a 4 door 320 running a 325 engine and sport manual box, not done much to the car so far (lowered 45mm, welded diff). i came across a turbo, manifold and some pipeing from a 524tds and on the add it claims it should 'bolt on' to my m20 head, i won it off fleebay and am awaiting its arrival. kinda thought id beg for some help !
i have the origional 2.0l engine i thought i could use as a test bed. any pointers ?? eg what compression ratios needed, stronger internals etc? intercooler, how big? not owened a turbo car nore carried out a conversion before so kinda need as much info on the matter as possible. Cheers Ant.

Hey Ant, welcome to the Zone
Think I'd develop my kit around the engine that it's going to end up on rather than the 2 litre.
Either way, the diesel turbo is faaaaaar too small for those engines so that's the first thing to think about changing.
The later 2.5 engines have a nice low compression ratio as standard so you don't need to worry about that and they can handle a lot of boost without the need for uprated internals too....which is nice
The IC from a Volvo 7 or 9 series seems to be popular as it's nice and big and fits straight in without too much fettling.
The other thing you need to think about is the engine management side of things as this can make or break your conversion.
Have fun

Perhaps give Ant (that's his user name on here) a PM as he can supply and tune the MegaSquirt ECU.
Emerald are a good alternative, although quite a bit more money.
