2.0 gearboxes vs 2.5

Hello, me again with more silly questions!

Someone's mentioned that the ratios of the 2 litre 'box are the same as the Sport box (think that's right) but does anyone know if they're as strong as the 2.5 'box?

I've also seen it mentioned that the number of the 'box, i.e. "Getrag 260" means it's designed for 260Nm of torque. That's obviously a bit conservative, but does anyone know what the limit for the 2.0 block is?

Everything you wrote is wrong ;)

the 320i box is the same as the M10 318i, Getrag 240, only has a diffrent housing, non removable to note.
same gears.

If the 260 would be the NM then a M30 box (Getrag 265) would be made for 265nm,
that doesn´t make any sense, and the E34 M5 box for 280nm

Will the 320 box fit the 325 with no issues??? And is it replicating the sport box ratio's if used?

Sport - 3.35, 2.03, 1.36, 1.00, 0.81 and 3.20 reverse.
320i - 3.72, 2.02, 1.32, 1.00, 0.81 and 3.45 reverse
325i - 3.83, 2.20, 1.40, 1.00, 0.81 and 3.46 reverse

2.0 box needs 2.0 prop and 325box needs 325 prop due to "i think" 15mm extra/less gearbox length which cannot be "made up or hidden" in the splines of the prop centre joint.

well im still running a 320i running gear and im having no issues with it so far. so i rekon it will be able to take quite a lot of power!
