:( :( :( :( If I had space on my drive for another car - it would probably be an E30 touring....

Did you take the engine out or did that bite the dust too?

Still interested.....but will happily take the other parts if the engine is history....

Regards,

Bruce.

getting a fag out of its packet and lighting it is not different to dialing a phone and making a call with a hand held phone in my eyes, same with people eating and applying makeup etc

That's why we have 'driving without due care and attention'. Why do we need a specific ban? If this keeps up, there'll be a ban on manual cars!

Bad luck with the car, btw Simon!

or adjusting the radio
or putting the window down
or opening the sunroof
or carrying passengers

all factors that make you lose concentration

I smoke and have only been driving for 5 years
in central london too
and I have never had an accident because of it

Of course!

Chris, the car isn't mine, I just picked it up, I work for a recovery company who work for the local Police.

The car came to us as the owner originally claimed someone tried to set fire to the car until the SOCO people pointed out the burnt ciggy on the seat winkeye he soon changed his story!

Quite right Chris - the more laws that are brought in the more the moral responsibility of the nation is eroded.

It's been used as a practice car for the new guy who started a couple of weeks ago, it's been dangled by some chains by the A-pillars, on it's roof about 5 times, and lot's of other nasty stuff!

More pics tomorrow!
