I've just bought a set of powerflex bushes off ebay, already used and pressed into there carriers, they are the offset ones that copy that of the m3 ones...

my question is, the bushes come in two parts, the black section that is pressed into the carrier, the other purple part is pushed in by hand.

i've noticed on the one, the purple bit looks worn, around the flange that seats it when fulyl pushed in, and it can be pulled out with little to no force...unlike the other one that is a task to pull out.

first of does it matter its like this, would it cause a problem on the car, or the nature of its position not matter ?

it looks like the puple bit were the hole finished right towards the back is slightly sloted.. could it have been in a crash, or maybe just loose and worn over time... but they are claimed to be less then 1000miles old.

basicly need to know if this would cause a problem before i fit them ect.

The only thing i thought of is when the arm is drove into the purple bush, its expenstion on the bush is enough to remove this sloppyness from the bush,, but want to be sure before i fit them.

kind regards.

In what way fail ? like slight noise... or like suspension leg falling off and death to all spec. ?

I want to fit them, but i'm unsure now.

The inside piece is slotted to go over the "wing" on the wishbone/arm. I've had these fitted on my cab and had no problems at all, only done about 3000 miles so far.

How can it with the ball joint holding it to its position ?? surely it can't ??

It would have to move like 3inch backwards at least..

I may give it ago and find out for myself.
