Mallory Park
Moderator: martauto
Just come home from standing in the pooring rain at Mallory Park race track. It was well worth it to see the Easytrack Production BMW Championship race.
Might not sound exciting but a grid of 28 E30's on the track is a joy to behold.
Did anyone else go?

Me, was in red no 23 and brother Mickey delphin 24. The worst conditions I've ever driven in, was sure each lap that it would be red flagged as grip and visibility was close to zero, good fun to race in tho
. Fair play to you for braving the elements to watch matey, I had earache all the way home from the missus about how cold and wet it was and she was sitting in the car most of the day, not standing out on the bank!

Official photos not up yet, a few over here though http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... ht=#702171
Niggy- few damaged cars, 9 DNF nothing due to driving standards more to conditions. Tony Doe and Fletcher the worst of both in need of some serious jigging and alot of new panels
Excellent drives from Robin Welsh and Mickey Daly, with a great battle for 2nd from Julian and Tony
12 tickets will be up for grabs for Combe on 28th May, see keep your eyes open!!

Hi fella, Mickey got fastest race lap, 1.05248, the race was more than wet though, like driving a hovercraft, the top 20 qualifyers beat the best race lap in normal wet qualifying, pole was 1.02375 top twenty down to 1.05 something.
It'll be good to see at least bits of the touring on track again, Fletch only gets his as sideways as yours used to be when he is off into the scenery
Cheers
Brian

Not sure how hard it hit and was too wet to have a proper look, may need the front jigging out a bit, and not sure if any damage to suspension
May need a new rad I guess??
Sure from all the parts you have and DK has we can get it all together, I have full cross member steering rack etc all in one piece if any of thats damaged
And dont forget he's got the 318 donor
If it needs a suspension rebuild and he wants it done down the road, let me know and I will get it done out the back door for him
Hi Brian- well done Mickey, i bet he's pleased.
Im glad i pulled out of Mallory after all, was enterd for Pre93 in 325e but could have ended up with damage.
The Tourer was a fast old girl, remmeber it finished 2nd last year at Mallory and was only .006 from pole with a best lap of 58.961 (cloudy damp). Ive used many parts from Tourer on 325e, Diff-Gear box- Engine are all being used on track in PBMW, lets see if that £4000 engine is as good for ****** as it was for me
Looking at Julians car tonight

Damp (sorry Nige
) but still a stonking lap. The guy that qualified pole and won last year with sub 1 min laps qualified in 1.03 something, best race lap 1.07 something. As your engine use is in future tense Nige I know who my money is on for having it under the bonnet
