Folks,

Great new form format BTW. Greetings again from Canada.

We've had a wack of snow here on the West Coast the past month so driving the Touring was a wee bit trickier (100 lbs os sand over the rear wheels certainly helps). My ques is does anyone know the best way to check that the ABS is working properly? From what I understand (and I might be wrong) in the wet (say fresh 2" of snow) with the ABS functioning properly the wheels should NOT lock up on hard constant pressure braking from say 30 mph.

When I start up, I get a flashing 'check' on the dash, that immediately goes away after I tap the break pedal beofre moving. It's always been that way and the previous owner said all e30's with ABS had that light flash after you start them, which goes out after you touch the brakes.

Cheers,

Jeff

Yeah, as far as I know they all do that - certainly any one I've seen. Including mine.

when you tap the brake pedal and the check light goes out, that means your brake lights are working, nothing to do with your ABS , that has a seperate warning light on the display which should come on when you turn the ignition on and go out when the car has started, i hope this helps, john
