That hardtop will turn up sooner rather than later, i can't imagine there are two weissmann roofs out there that have had their quilted leather headlinings attacked with an axe !
An electric or fixed glass panel was an option on a weissmann hardtop, but it looks quite different to the one that shaz has had nicked .
I know lots of scumbags, i will keep my eyes peeled.

hey shaz, sori to hear that this shits happened, make sure you smack who ever done it up. im just down the road from you and i have a hard top too and ive actually gone to the lengths of securing my hard top with a chain through the four holders/handles and then wrapping each end of the chain to each individual front seat before locking it with 2 pad locks. its abit hard to get in and out of the car but i'd rather that than skip a heartbeat worrying all the time. i know a few people from the ends and if i hear anything i'll be sure to let you know. ive got a standard bmw hardtop, i didn't even know you could get ones with sunroofs.

also, another way of securing the hardtop is by taking the 2 bolts off the back which lock it into place and actually use lock nuts as a replacement, similar to alloy wheel lock nuts. that's the advice i got given, its worth a try in my opinion.

Really sorry to hear this Shaz. Hope the thieving scum b*stards die a VERY slow and VERY painful death...

There is one major problem with making the roof harder to remove to stop it getting nicked...
This problem is the simple fact that if the b*stards want it, they'll take it, and if it's been secured better, they'll just do more damage to the car to get it off...

Good luck with finding the c*nts and getting your roof back. Hope you can catch them and make them suffer too. I hate it when this sort of thing happens
Currently slumming it in an E46 Touring

at least you will hear your pager no matter how far you are from your car works about a mile away

another thing to do is always set your dead locks on so they will struggle to get into the car to undo the hardtop or will have to smash another window which will make more noise and alert some one

i use to have a st24 before my cab that had dead locks on there too

they smahed the window and stole my audio equipment from my car but because i had it all dead locked the guy cut him self on the glass while climing through the smashed window

so police caught the guy in the end and i got paid by the nsurance for it,

another good thing to do is if you have a hardtop on the back window get it marked either with your reg or get some code made something like bmw232323 some sort of code which is made by you

so if it did get stolen it can be easily recovered, i dont think its that easy to get hold of a hardtop rear window or bmw prob dont even make them any more
