I was watching some show on telly the other day that had one of these, silver one.
That f*ckpiece tv chef james martin has one... and a very impressive collection of cars and sporting memorabilia... but most importanly, one of these.
Apparently when you bought one the wing came in the boot as bmw wouldnt fit it.

It would be nice to see a white sport stickered up in those Motorsport colours.
Polished 17" BBS rims to match. Done right I think it'll look impressive.

The noise is like nothing else iv been in (M3 DTM included) To do a full race distance in one you would need ear protection.
The car in the first set of pics you posted is a Group 2 touring car from 72-75, they had around 350bhp - BMW used them to own the fords in the IMSA and the european touring car championship.
Somewhere i have an onboard vid of this car (owned by a good mate) -

That is a stunning looking car. Not to sure about the colour. I prefer the white and silver versions.
Any bets on it's reserve?

That looks like the late Tim Busby's UFO replica. It was built by Chris Randall from a 3.0CS Auto, and Tim bought it and did the full replica but with oddball bits like Alpina centrelock rims and slide throttle injection. I don't know where it is now but it was in need of a good body job as Tim drove it good and hard, bless him. Chris bought it back, sold it again and now has a real one.
I had a CSL road car a few years back (2002-3).

Now this is a proper car. It was built from a totally rust free CSL that had a light front end smack and was stored for 20+ years and now has a big power 3.5 built by Schnitzer and all kinds of bits. I had a go in this one in 2005 at the OGP and the Nurburgring and fuck me did it go. It sounded even better than it went.
The photo is taken in the centre of Adenau during the OGP (Old Timer Grand Prix).

I have never even seen one of these in the flesh, but I can already confirm that my soul, several internal organs and even a Grand Parent or two are on offer if anyone fancies a trade.
