Have you just tried tighten upt the cable.
Take off handbrakeHandle
then take off the cover you will see to 10mm geta rachet spanner on it as i may as simple as the cable strectching or replace ment of hanbrake shooes located behen rear Discs
should self adjust i think but the mechanism gets lazy or faulty but this will hope fully solve your problem

DO NOT TIGHTEN THE CABLE. People doing this is the biggest cause of defective handbrakes on E30s.
The cable adjustment is made when cables are fitted new and possibly a few weeks afterwards when they have settled down. If abnyone has tried to adjust the handbrake this way in the past, they may have ruined the handbrake shoes.
Take the rear discs off, check everything is assembled properly (last one I looked at had been assembled wrong.) , adjust the handbrake cables to take up the slack, check nothing is seized, reassemble and adjust the handbrake properly through one of the bolt holes in the hub.

You don't have to remove the disc to adjust the handbrake - in fact you can't adjust it with the disc /drum off 'cause there's nothing to adjust it to.
I would remove the discs anyway though, just to see whats happening in there. Only need to unscrew two bolts holding the caliper bracket on.
Once you have the drum off, you can see how the adjuster works, and practice how to adjust it.
Access hole for adjustment is just one of the wheel bolt holes.
