I will in August move to Sweden because I will be internal transfeard to the Swedish office so I wonder.
Should I take my loved E30 to Sweden and use it there? Or should I sell it here in the UK and get my self a new car in Sweden? I can see that a E30 cost 30-40% more in Sweden compear to here in UK and then its a LHD version.
So any tought guys on what I should do...??
Should I export mine over to "Abba-land" and change the plates to Swedish?

look into how much it would cost you weigh up what a car in your condition would be worth over there and then make the decision that way if it would be cheaper for you to take yours do that and at least that way you know what you have

I will be in Sweden for ever.... Im a Norwegian who have now lived in the UK since 2003 and its time to move back closer to family and friends..
My E30 316i have cost me to much, and I will not get all of it back if I sell it here in England. Good E30s in Sweden is about 20.000 + in Swedish kroners. (circa 1400 GBP)
Because I have had my car now for a year I will not pay any import tax into Sweden (EU country)
I dont know how much I will get back if I sell my car here in the UK?

i doubt you will get anything near that much for a 316 sedan.
i would take it with me, but , will it fetch 20.000 being rhd?
i cope easily enough with lhd in the U2 so you should be ok back in Swindon

No, a RHD will be hard to sell in Sweden like every else on the mainland. The main thing is, I have a car now, I like it, I have done a upgrade on it, I have done a lot of tlc and a part of my soul is in that car. If I move over without the BM, I will then need to look for a new one, I need to spend more cash for an E30 there.
I allready have a car I like...
In worst case, I can convert it to a LHD....

take it with you mate - run it for as long as you can continue to afford the upkeep.
they are such rewarding motors - why not start a saving fund for when this one has to be laid to rest?

I'd still sell it, obtain one in France or Germany or Poland for that matter and drive it to Norse land. Should get a bargain in Polski land.
If you cannot sell yours, put it into storage. What are the import fees like in Sweden?

It sounds like he's not coming back, so storage would be forever, if you were meaning keeping it here. Sounds expensive!blatantarrogance wrote: If you cannot sell yours, put it into storage. What are the import fees like in Sweden?
