Does anyone on here have a data sheet or any other sort of white paper on the motronic systems used on the 6 pot E30's.
I'm also looking for the deifnitive guide to how to allow the ECU to learn it's parameters after disconnecting the battery as I've read a few different reports.
IE should the engine be stone cold, should it be left to idle for so many minutes or should it just be driven.
let me know your answers and why please!

BMW assumed you would just go drive it so just do that,
itԚ´s the best way,
If you do find the white paper please post it,
If you have any .bin files please send them to me,
I and some others are working on the .bins
when I have learned enough a tech article will be made

Hi Gunni,
That sounds good to me, I don't have any binaries YET. I have heard the zone chips are among the best but I'm a long way from tuning it up.
I'm in the process of writing a guide on sorting the basic running out on the 6 pot E30's and would like to know the definitive procedures for the last bit.
I've got my car running pretty much perfectly after going through the entire fuel/ignition system - it ran like a dog when I first got it and I'd like to share my findings on here. I see so many posts about bad fuel consumption/hesitation/general poor running and I'd like to help.
If I find anything I'll post it, I will not post any copyrighted code though!

gunni. I'm trying to mod my own chip to (m40b18) any info you've got on this would be very much appriciated.
andy, I'd like any info you come across too. I've seen a few websites but nothing substantial.
Maybe we could create a thread for the collating of motronic info. Free the information!!!

Andy_magic, rock on mate you legend. A really good guide to the basic setup of M20's ignition and injection is a great idea, I for one am waiting for it to come as I have some starting issues (off topic). Chipping is great but obviously you have to have the motor running A1 for the chip to produce optimum power etc. I'm looking forward to your write up, cheers

I kinda expected an online translator to exist but I was feeling so damned lazy
As I said I emailled one of the guys from the site. With any luch they'll be a bit forthcoming with info about map location etc. Unfortunately there's no m40 chip on that site
