great pics and looks like so much fun!

and the 325i looks fantastic (nice 318is front spoiler) really clean car!

but the "Audi RS4 pushing 55BHP"
could do with pushing out a bit more than 55bhp would be bloody slow!

sorry couldnt resist. :)

would be there if i could but im a bit far

No Its a hill climb 3 hill over 3 days, you only need a basic MSA licence, Race suite, helmet 2kg hand held fire ext and a timing strut for there timing gear which is only a piece of alloy 254 long 54 wide and mounted between 180 to 200mm above the road. Good cheap motorsport. Here is the events web site http://www.manxmotorracing.com.
As for the Audi RS4 V8 it had 550bhp, twin turbos and boy dit it go Ian and I were in the same running group as the 3 fastest cars, the Audi, Impreza with 425BHP and a Caterham RS500 liteweight with 250ish but only weighing 480Kgs as for Me I had loaned a standard 220bhp Carlton 24VGSi 3000cc which was 600Kgs heavier than Ian E30.
as for the experance my 17 year old son did his first hill climb in a 106 XSi 1400 realy enjoyed it and learned a lot about lines and smooth driving.

Looks like a fun event. How much are entry fees?

That video is painful to watch. Made me feel a bit sick.

£250 for three days - and it was FANTASTIC, my first time in a timed event and I loved it, better than a track day in some ways.

Who would be up for it next year from the Zone?

Ian

I am locking myself in the garage over Xmas to seam weld my new Tr7 shell should have 260bhp and weights just 900kg with 280lbs foot/torque so if thats finished I will be using the hill climb to set it up for the National Rally

Just in case i have a few problems ( hard to find Works spec stuff) i have just bought a Porsche 924S for the pre 83 class. If the Tr7 sorted i will hire out the Porsche. Richards keen to try Teh E30 power next year. I could give the Autocross car a coat of paint and that could be used as well.

I'm very tempted, but the dates are so close to my final year exams that i'm not sure if it would be possible... That said, what are the entrance requirements and costs?

I like that photo of mine on the IOM BMW clubs site btw...

Lloydie

Car all ready yet did you get your diff sorted, just putting the finishing bits and bobs to the porsche 924 that I will be running this year, I haven't ruled out taking the Tr7 up the slock, Richards not doing the hill climb this year repair bill for the 106 after Easter forest rally to high needs new shell. Hoping to get my 325 sport sorted for a few track days later in the year and the 318is rally car out in the forest rallies in Sept & Oct it will be good to see you out for a play on the roads and tracks.

The 325 will be ready, have some decals to put on it for DGP Station Rd Garage Port Erin and away I go :D

Looking forward to it again, hope the sun shines for us and the visitors... Different groups this year so should be interesting ...

I´m also doing my BARS test on the 13th April so reading the blue book - god the print is small!!! So all going well I can start to do some rallying and get more use from the e30 325.

£260.00 for the three days

www.manxmotorracing.com - it's out of date but you get the idea 8) it's a great event and I've done the past two and will be doing the last day of this one as I've got to be in Manchester for as exam on the first two days of the event

Email from the organiser Hilary:

Hi All

Sorry for the long delay due to negotiations with the local authorities.

You will receive in the next 10 days the Supplementary Regulations for the 2009 event.

Thursday: Governor's Sprint
Friday: The Sloc
Saturday: Lhergy Frissell

For information Governors Sprint will start in the pit lane at the TT Grandstand and hairpin right to follow the road up to Governors Bridge then left into the bridge which is a right handed bend and tight left hand out and up the old Mountain Road for a short stretch. It is called a sprint as it is mostly flat with a rise toward the end. The only other people who use Governors Bridge are the TT and MGP motorcycles going the oposite way. I think you will find this very exciting and challenging.

Just getting the regs printed so should be with you all very shortly.

See you there

Sorry everyone - it's been cancelled...See Below
Hi All

It is with regret that I advise you all that the directors have taken the decision to cancel this years event

This is due to extra requirements from the authorities to obtain a road closing order for the Governors Sprint involving consultation with residents. Given the time frame available we are not able to conplete this process for this year and the decision of cancel has therefore been taken.

We are now commencing arrangements to the same event to take place in 2010 and will be in touch with you all again later this year with full details.
If you have already made your entry then any monies paid will be refunded shortly.

We would thank you all for your support over the last 3 years and hope that we can welcome you again in 2010.
