Its just the bodywork thats holding everything up at the moment. My mate has been waiting to fit the m30 engine for the last 3 months. But everyone keeps telling me not to rush it just to get it ready for the summer, suppose there right but when the weathers like this it would seem easier to paint the car white.

A mate of mine who works for bodyworks in stratford is gonna do it.
Much problems fitting the M3 wings?
F**K LOADS, thought I had it sorted untill I put the front grills in and noticed a 1/2 inch gap between them and the wings.Nothing a bit of grinding and filling did not sort out but now I have to shorten the width of the front bumper

.As for the back quarters I had my mate fit them,he done a good job on a tvr so knew he was good with fibre glass. If you get your 2.7 fitted next week you can claim the biggest engine untill august/september.

The looks, but also the right engine.

The one and only REAL M3 Baur
But when done decent, a M3-pakkage can look quite nice: here a 318i:

So there is only one m3 baur ever made? How much is it worth?
Does anyone know how to find out more details re: the baur i.d/build number badge on the inside of the door pillar.
Forgot to mention that I am also smoothing the bumper recess front and back and the recess below the number plate. The light panel between the rear lights will stay but will be tinted black to match in with the lights.Going to try and move the number plate onto the bumper but not sure where yet as I want a quad exhaust like on the newer m3,but not to sure where to get one fabricated.Been told that pipecraft is the place to go but not sure how much this will cost seen as its got to be hooked up to an m30 engine.

Thanks Dips. Hopefully it should be done for August but as I said I get one thing fixed and find another ten.Suppose it would not be as fun if it was a simple bolt on kit and spray job. What magazine was it that your tourer was in? saw a bit about in another thread.

Tried it with 9.5mm spacers and it looks o.k still not siting right, but would prefer to put a 10j wheel and then add a 5mm spacer so that it sits right. What size rear wheel does the m3 come with and could a 10j fit under the arch o.k.

Problem is I did not want to start messing about with the arches again, got it just how I want them and I still ain't sure if its how they are suppose to look

.Has anyone got a picture of the rear qtr where the skirt meets up to it for guidance. At the moment the skirt is not flush with the rear qtr but I am atacking it with a grinder in between replying, from what I can see on dips' m3 it looks like it is flush?

Any idea how much he wants for them and are they kt1's,prefer the 9j on the front so if they are kt1's it would be easier to get the gold bolts for my front ones.Been quoted £1.20 a bolt not sure how much gold ones are or even if £1.20 per bolt is cheap.

Yes, and hasn't been for sale since 1990. And I think that when it will be sold, it will be to BMW.
And I can tell you someting about the numbers. The E30-series started with 40001 and ended with 50xxx. The last two numbers stand for the type of roof. For example; my car is 47095-13: The 7095th build Baur, with a type 13 , Sonnenland Black, roof.

Will have to check what my numbers are. When you say that the last two digits is the roof type do you mean the colour of it or is there more than one type of roof for the baur. Some time ago I did see a hard top for the back part of the roof on ebay germany but I have never seen one again. Are these original baur or aftermarket panels.Would it be o.k to p.m the build number to you tomorow?

No, only the colour. But the hardtop was an option. Here are some pictures of my own hardtop:

And on my car:
No problem off course to PM the number.

How much do these sell for? The hardtop looks so much better. Is it just the pop rivet screws that hold the bottom in place. Thanks for all the info Jereon,I have tried looking up baurs on the net but never find much info on them, but I have noticed that the market for them is getting better.
