What are the differences between the M20 325 engines found in the phase 1 and phase 2 cars ?

Hi Jake,

The compression ratio is different:

Pre facelift = 10.2:1
Post facelift = 9.5:1

....which basically means pre-facelift M20s are faster :D

the fuel system is different too, pre f/l is a k jetronic and post f/l is called a motronic unit

AFAIK, only the 320i / 323i got jetronic, all 325i's came with motronic :thumb: Facelifts 325i's just got an update of the motronic system.
E30 in need of wiring loom smoke since April '11...
