This is what my 318iS looks like at the moment (well sort of - the engine's in bits and the tyres are flat, and I've photoshopped the chrome arches off in this pic!)

Image

I kind of like the wheels - I feel they go quite well with the quite chunky Zender side skirts. I've not seen these wheels on another e30. They're ASA, made under license from BBS (so it says on the rim).

Anyway, I'd like other people's opinions on the wheels. A couple of mates have been asking when I'm going to replace them with BBS cross-spokes...

Maybe I'm suffering from style blindness - are they cool or crap?

I'm not too keen. But then peoples tastes vary?
I'm sure you'll get a few posts later from people who love them. But then I don't really like the BBS styles, unless it's a completely original looking car..

I haven't considered any alternative wheels to be honest. What wheels could you see on the car, assuming I keep the sideskirts?

ahhhh Buxton.. still get lots of snow?

your wheels look OK - an odd number of spokes is the correct format, but they just don't quite suit the E30 in my eyes.

15" BBS are the best/lightest/strongest and IMHO look fantastic... but they are a chore to keep clean.

How about 16" Hartges? Not quite so good as the BBS for handling, but very close, and damn easy to keep clean.

Yep - I think we've just about had the last of the frost for the year as well! Looking forward to summer now, all 3 weeks of it!

Quite like the AC Schnitzer Type II's, but 4 hole versions are like hen's teeth. Saw some on ebay recenty, should have snatched them up.

You're right about cross-spokes being a pain to keep clean, but they do look good. Probably cheapest and easiest to get hold of too.

I think they suit well, with the chunky side skirts, a less hefty wheel might be over-shadowed.
Keep em!

something with some dish, that'll give it the beef to sit with those skirts, doesn't have to be huge dish to mess with the handling too much

i think they look good, am a fan of chunky spoked wheels, hate bbs's i think wire spoke looking wheels are best left to vintage sports cars, but only real spokes, bbs look to false to me! winkeye

Here here.

Leave the bbs to the cloth cap and pipe brigade.

Those wheels look ok, similar to borbet e's.

Maybe could do with being 16's.
