Now a weekend of E30ness in the beautiful end of the country, surrounded by beer and bbq's.. Try and keep me away!
The missus loves the south coast more than me, so she was no problem.. Just gotta get the car through the mot..
Though will probably have to give the night out in Newquay a miss.. Will have a 10 month old (e30 enthusiast in training) in tow..
So Max, you wanna meet up on A38 somewhere on way to m5? Though if thats an M3 in your siggy your driving you might have to hold back for me..

If meeting up with max doesnt work out, a few people are meeting at exeter services (M5 Junction 30) on the friday at 1.30pm to convoy down to the site.
Good to have another name signed up, its destined to be a great laugh.....
and... if someone else is bringing women and children, I might even be able to persuade the familly to come along too.

Exeter? We're near enough there by then.. Though I notice there may be a few Bristol / Welsh types joining up.. Happen a meet near Bristol prior to Exeter? But then driving the BM is a joy so I'd be happy to solo the whole run, get lost a few hours, and get there after dark.. Though the tired wife and baby would probably disagree with my beer over tent pitching priorities by then
And please encourage the kids to come.. It'll give the missus something to talk about whilst I make a fool of myself on the go-carts..
btw, where we want the cheque sending for that? Was thinking of paying by paypal but the charges on that are prolly more than the cost of a stamp

Trecking down with Max would be a good idea. As previously suggested, we're meeting a few cars at Exeter approximately 1.30pm. Cotty is meeting me in Yeovil and having a refresh there. Cannot remember where exactly he's coming form or if that's any good to you.tezk wrote:Exeter? We're near enough there by then.. Though I notice there may be a few Bristol / Welsh types joining up.. Meeting up would be good. It's a bit of hike from Derby so if you can make it in time, the rest will be advisable.
It's a piece of cake to get there really, shouldn't worry too much
Current plans are just to try and get to Exeter for the meet up there.. Thinking on, with the nipper in tow we'll probably end up taking breaks every other services on the way down. I'll see what everyones doing and take it from there.
It is a bit of a way from here. The wife and I drove down 3 years ago - just took the A38 south? It was pretty good going until you got to the towns, so we'll probably stick to the Mways this time. We've said ever since we'd love to take another holiday down there but couldn't really justify the expense.. at £5 per night, thats the cheapest I've seen and getting to meet fellow E30 (and beer and bbq) enthusiasts has gotta be worth a run out.
I've just booked the rest of the week off work, so we're going to make a week of it.
And I'm more than sure the cars up to it.. I bought her just over a month ago from someone in Kilwinning, just South of Glasgow? A 300 mile run with a couple of breaks, a tear in the air elbow and leaking fuel everywhere.. Managed it in just over 8 hours
So is there a Tesco's or something nearby? Or can I bung someone a few quid when I get there to get some burgers or something? We've got a cool box, but I wouldnt fancy eating meat products carried 300+ miles in the back of a black car in (hopefully) hot weather, no matter how charred..

Yeah bring him along. Add to the list. Looks like a few will be staying a couple nights longer mate.
If the weather's like this, you'll not forget about it in a hurry.
Everyone used to be really friendly when out and about. Had a few beers with some lads from Manchester a few years ago, a few from Yorkshire too.

It was hot as hell here in plymouth today. I spent the day fiddling with the car and I H ave tanned arms.. except where they had oil on, where I have untanned bits.
If we have weather like this for the weekend down there it will be damn fine. (If my cooling system is fixed so I dont have to drive everywhere with the heaters on full
I'm probably staying for the sunday night, maybe longer.

If anyone's still thinking but hasn't experienced the beaches down there first hand, I found this this morning:
http://www.fistrallive.com/index.html
There's a java plug in to load, but it's a live webcam of a beach near there.. Plus details of a few things to do locally..
I was sat in the freezing front room this morning, looking out at the gloom outside, with the image of a sunny beach on the screen..

Fistral isn't bad, a little over rated and the first beach the grockels head for. There are far better beaches around, as munky, charlie and I can testify!!!
