are these common faults? or what could cause it? a 320i 94 has come up and alittle concerned when he said 'milage display broken'....if its not the screen itself then is there anything it could be and will it be expensive to fix?

lol noo staying with e30's im afraid....although keep having dirty thoughts about getting another e34 
my neighbour asked me to get a 'reliable car for under 1000'....
seems factory bulbs often die...ill inspect when i pick it up. just didnt wana buy some 300k taxi for the guy!
