Howdy,

my motorsport cab has a big hole in its rear exhaust, so went down to kwik fit to get it on the ramp the guy quoted me 800 notes for a full performance exhaust!!wow!! and 210 for the rear box as per original.....still cant believe the 800!!

Im not too sure whether to go and get a stainless number or original???

Anybody recomend a stainless exhaust, something subtle which doesnt give you a headache and doesnt look like rocket launcher!

Anybody know where the best price is for an original rear box??

you definately need to resize youre avator pic dude. it should be about 20X samller :D

I would recommend a good stainless system just for the lifetime guarentee you get with most if not all of them

a custom stainless jobbie should be around half the price youve been quoted.

quite fancy a stainless number, not sure what one to get want to try and avoid one that is very noisy with it being a cab you can hear it loud enough

You should be able to specify: how loud you want it, grade of steel used, tube diameter, tailpipe design etc etc.
There are lots places that do it so have a shop about.

one question: do you need to replace the manifold aswell? if so that would explain the high price youve been quoted.

no it doesnt need replaced but was an option to replace the full lot in one go although I think I would just go for the rear box first and maybe later do the rest, will have a look into the custom stuff do you know any companies?

There's a clue in the original post.....
KwikFit???
Robbing ba5tard5! At least dick Turpin had the decency to wear a mask.
My step-son needed a front pipe on his 306TD. KwikFit told him he would have to have a complete system including the cat at £800. They wouldn't do a part system.
He went to a little independent place and paid £95 for excatly what the car needed. They said the rest of the system had plenty of life left in it.
I've heard plenty of other horror stories about KwikFit too.
This is why I no longer drive an E30......

I fitted a Powerflow custom fit stainless exhaust from the cat right through to the rear box. It cost £190 six years ago and is still as good as the day it was fitted. They used a magnex rear box as part of the setup and made up the pipes to the cat. Not a loud or performance enhancing setup, just a nice six cylinder purr. Have been very pleased with it.
Piccy attached shows the rear twin stainless pipes. Pretty neat, not too big. They are straight, pic angle a little deceiving.
