Roll cage help

Instead of running the tube behind the dash would it be ok to fix it further down like in the pic ? I am worried about it coming down on my legs if in a smash ?

i personally would say a big no no, as if you have a front end it could crumple into your legs with the weight of the engine behind it putting you in a dangerous position. the general idea is to keep anytinhg solid as far away from your body as possible. it may be more work (i know i had to remove the dash for my cage), but it's worth it. you'd be suprised how easy it is to remove an reassemble anyway.

You would better off not fitting it then fitting it there IMHO

I would second that,you don't want that trapping you in if the car is ablaze!
P.S You don't need that sound deadening surely
