Replaced my rotten fuel tank, fuel hose's under car, fuel filter and changed my fuel presure regulator.
But have ended up with a black rubber pipe spare.
All hose are connected. thought this must be a breather so left in engine bay and when engine warmed up started leaking. So plugged.
Car drives fine only sometimes when hot won't start.
Think this is more immobiliser as when fob pressed etc usealy goe's. this pipe rises up under the passenger side.
Can anybody shed any light on this explosive situation.

Do a search for fuel tank.. i cant link to it it keeps coming up restricted. There's a few pics ther. If its under the pax side, it's the fuel return line. It goes into a rigid pipe that goes across the top of the tank. It goes through the rubber grommet snd up.

Col, if you keep getting the restricted message, you need to change the .net to .co.uk (or vice versa) in the address bar at the top

i can speak for a 318 cab cat equiped this pipe runs to a carbon cannister on the n/s wing /3 pipes run next to each other fuel supply/return and the third is this breather ...i have seen it just pushed into the wheel arch but i wonder if it should connect to the inlet side of the engine to get rid of fuel vapours in the tank ....im sure someone on here can come up with the correct answer

pic??

Are the 2 fuel lines used? They should be under the rear wishbone mount and go up into the engine bay. You should be able to see the outlets from the engine bay.

This sounds like the vent pipe, and a short piece of rubber hose on the front end of it should be tucked into the reinforcement structure for the LH front suspension turret.
If petrol comes from this pipe, you've got the pipes connected wrongly at the back.
There was a similar thread to this a while ago, where a garage had replaced the tank and got the pipes wrong.
