e30 M3 kits?
Moderator: martauto
how comes no one has them..at all?cheapest i found on the net was 790(inc rear spoiler) http://www.smithanddeakin.co.uk/aeFrame.htm
yeah rear archs must be abit of a pain to fit, is it becuase most if not all are not genuine bm? personaly i think it goes very nicley on the e30 and its boxxy fannytastic shape, different to all the mtec kits about (and those horrid e46 look kits)
also ive never seen anyone fit those wide arch genisis kits to a cabby, barring the ghay vents they look rather meaty??

Adding lumps of fibreglass to your motor to make it look like an M3 is ghey.Scrotty wrote:how comes no one has them..at all?cheapest i found on the net was 790(inc rear spoiler) http://www.smithanddeakin.co.uk/aeFrame.htm

Forever getting cracked and it's not an m3. The money would be better spent on making your car faster/stop quicker/handle better.
Sod cutting away arches etc etc. You wont have the rear window rake either.

Holy shit, those are some wide rear wheels!
Love the way people lavish all that money and time on colossal wheels and then leave the standard 1p sized brakes on!

If he wanted an early skyline r33 bootlid, he should have left it attached to the skyline.chinchilla wrote:more pics of the wide arch kit:

These cars are not E30's.
The E30 is just some donor skeleton to hang all that nastiness on.
Why?
Just get a Ferrari Mondial/Testarossa if you want a car that looks like on.
So, so wrong.

Just proves that these lot are in it for the looks only and being in anything for just the looks is gay.Turbo-Brown wrote:Love the way people lavish all that money and time on colossal wheels and then leave the standard 1p sized brakes on!

If only it didnt have those uber gay testarossa style 'vents' down the side it would be very nice.
And yes I know I shouldnt like it... as a rule I dont like heavily modified cars but at least that one has been done well....

not saying anything against booty's car... but why is his so special to you blatant?
If you agree, then surely his would fall into the same bracket?
I fond your cowardice offensive to my sensibilities.

B0ll0cks to fitting into any box, I like it and that's all that matters. It's just cool. Somethings are just cool.munky30 wrote:not saying anything against booty's car... but why is his so special to you blatant?

Ladas can be cool. Most are sheds, but some are just cool.
Cool cool cool
Wanky barry testies-rossa-skyline booted sheds are not.
Your last sentance in Polish?
Anyway, why not say anything against bootys car? If you think it's barry, then it's barry!!!

As far as I know, there isn't such thing as a "genuine M3 kit." M3's were built as M3's, and all the panels were different apart from the bonnet (I think). Different boot lid, rear quarter panels, angle of rear windscreen for definite anyway. Pretty much a different car to the E30 - they just used that as a base to design from I think.Scrotty wrote:the genisis kit was purly curiousity, but i agree it looks wrong
whats the geniune M3 kit made from then?
So there isn't a genuine M3 kit that you can bolt on to make your car look like an M3, as the only way it can be genuine is if it actually is an M3. It's not like the 325i sport, where you can get all the bits and actually modify a standard 2dr E30 into a 325i sport with all the black headlining, mtec kit etc. I don't know of any E30s that have actually been properly converted into M3's, though if there are, they'll probably be on the zone

No 4rse licking here, Bens reiger (and all his other turds) is shockingly council, and so is Ben, but in his defence he admits this and like an alcoholic who admits he has a problem there may be hope !

Oxymoron!!! Not really council after the shekels he's spunked at it. perhaps council chic, nee aspiring to be council. Attention whore perhaps?pacerpete wrote:No 4rse licking here, Bens reiger (and all his other turds) is shockingly council, and so is Ben, but in his defence he admits this and like an alcoholic who admits he has a problem there may be hope !

All heavily modded cars I find horrid.
Which means they are horrid.
Regardless of who they belong to.
blatantarrogances' weak attempt at diplomacy was so shocking I bet it makes the Evening Standard late edition.

Not diplomacy, just my right to be awkward. I too hate heavily modded cars. To modifying means to improve. So strapping a turbo to an m20 would be a mod. Uprated brakes would be a mod. Replacing a wheezy m42 with a hugely superior m20 would be a modRoyalratch wrote:All heavily modded cars I find horrid.

But I like bootys car. It's cool. Affecting a change to the tune of £30k+ is a million miles away from said saxo driver knocking up his schoolage girlfriend whilst wasted on Buckfast.

The amount of money spent in no way lends credibility to the car nor demands respect - that is a ridiculous way to approach the argument.
I will say no more, not wanting to offend the dude who is not on this thread (yet).
RE uprating hardware, I'm mainly offended by styling mods. There are limitations as to what you should do with internals, which I will publish later - but wheels, lights, body, interiors and general styling are the main offenders.

Agreed about the money, can't buy taste. But it does refute the arguement of it being council, on the grounds council implies penniless council estate inhabitants.Royalratch wrote:The amount of money spent in no way lends credibility to the car nor demands respect - that is a ridiculous way to approach the argument.

Ratch, you didn't bite at the m42 jibe.... You admitting the m20 is better??
Wheels defo a good mod. Again subject to taste.

Modifying the interior is also acceptable... but only in certain ways.
As someone with kids, the idea of being able to shut them up with a couple of screens in the headrests and a ps3 on long journeys appeals to me greatly.
OEM+ interior modifying is perfectly acceptable. I want an obc, air con, maplights, headlining warning light panel, electric rear windows, sports seats etc. All from bmw, all 'standard' equipment.
Also adding a small subwoofer and some uprated speakers and a flip out touch screen headunit is on my list, I like a big touch screen to control my stereo so I'm not fiddling around with tiny buttons to change the track, and I like music that doesnt sound like its coming from inside an empty baked bean can.
