Hi Guys,
The temp gauge on our 325i cab has only ever risen to about 1/3 on the scale. Conventional wisdom would suggest it should settle at 1/2 way. Is this normal?
Any thoughts on what would cause this? The cable or the sensor?
We have yet to pick the car up from its first service in our ownership. Anything in a service two likely to affect it? A new boot on the air intake has been fitted as well as the service stuff.
Cheers,
Frank

Perfectly normal; the temp gauge is not linear, and the centre section covers only a few degrees.
Most E30s run between about a quarter and just over half on the gauge, but BMW state that anywhere is acceptable, as long as the needle is clear of the blue and red sectors.
It's much more important that it doesn't wander far with different driving conditions.

Excellent. Thanks for the info. It doesn't vary at all, rock solid in all weathers/duty in the same spot.
Cheers Mr Moooore!
