2.0 to 2.5 Conversion on an Auto ?

As title says,

My Car is an 1987 2.0 Auto

My engine is stipped out due to a rocker arm breaking and the water jacket is leaking,i need to buy either a new 2.0 head or a complete 2.5 engine....

Can i use the existing Auto box with a bigger lump ?? and perhaps change the diff for a better top end ? Or is that too easy?? !!

What else is involved in upgrading that extra 500cc ?!

Sounds pretty easy + is, loom is plug and play with 2.0/2.5 - the gear box will be fine. Just dont forget to change the ECU over to a 2.5

Diff's you can change around in 2-3 hrs depending??

could be wrong but i think you must change the diff as 320diff not as strong as 325 diff, thus may break up if driven hard (if i am wrong please someone let me know as i plan to do similar!!)

its the same engine, same mounts etc...

I can just rip an engine out a 525i and hey presto ?
