If I'm going fast (rarely), then on a dual carriageway, sometimes I'll put my lights on...sometimes the wankers who just drift out into the outside lane without looking to overtake actually notice you rather than trying to kill you.

Yeah, cos they are likely to catch a 'flash' of the light and then notice. Simialr to blue flashing lights, but not quite as good. :P

According to the Road Traffic Act fog lights (those lights under the bumper) are for use in falling snow, fog or conditions of poor visibility.

My brother's a traffic cop & says it's well worth pulling numptys with their fogs on as they usually have something wrong with their car or no tax etc.

It's a fixed penalty ticket job too.

It's no good arguing they're "driving lights" as the RTA defines the light by the position it's mounted in (less than 12" from the ground is a fog if memory serves).

In short, fogs on in good visibility is an invitation for trouble.

What I'm wondeirng is....how can you get 3 points for driving with foglights?

And how can you be stupid enough to attract attention to yourself if you have no tax or insurance!? 8O

I can kinda see the logic behind you friends remark. :D

PS I don't,uses more battery power, which in turn, makes the altenator work more, which in turn reduces fuel economy!
right they're off from now on then no question!!! I haven't got money to burn!

OFF OFF OFF , i hate the muppets that use them "to look good"
same with the rear fogs

i cant see wen other ppls front or rear fogs are on and i like to see, so i hate beeing blinded by others stupidty or there want to look good,
i use fogs in country roads and mainbeam late at night wen theres no one else around ( u see more hazards eg SAFTY cameras) but if the mainbeam was hooked to fogs that would be cool !

the ppl that drive by fogs only are even more stupid and in need of a swift kickin!

so leave the bloody things off
or your just a chav vvanker

Everyone says off BUT they do look good on! i myself cannot bring myself to do it because of the stigma attatched to it.

I think my xenons compensate for not having them on. People just pull over now on the m-way! i think they think its some sort of new flash fast twat instead or something, not old skool cool!

I meant blue flashing lights, like police lights, in that they catch your eye. If someone catches a glimse of a light in the mirror they are more likely to have a look and not pull into the outside lane when you are about to go past. :)

I hate those C*NTS who drive with their FOG (Not 'driving') lights on cos it's just so inconsiderate to other drivers. Do you really want to be in the same league as the W*NKERS who drive E36s, E46s, Saxos, Novas etc etc?

I do agree though, that our E30's do look particularly sexy with them on!

Yeah facelift e30s have both brake vents and FOG!!! lights ;-)

Got a pre-facelift at home too, will have a looksie but I don't think they have ducts at all. That reminds me. I have pre-facelift foglight for sale. They probably need a clean though.

Now I've started looking out for it I've noticed that loads of other cars drive with their front fog lights on for that rally-esque feel.

So, do you drive with yours on or off?
I couldnt be bothered to read the whole thread, so apologies if tis has been said:
