could anybody enlighten me as to wether or not a sport box out of a mtec 2 sport would make much of a difference in my 325i convertible.
this would be coupled to an 3.15 difff.
Also should the box be marked with a letter S or somthing?

3.15 diff

Thats about 160mph gearing on a 325

3.91 or 3.64 is what you need

a metro will be faster with that diff fitted :?

1st 2nd and 3rd are different on a sport box 4th and 5th are the same on both boxes

i prefer the sport box

That diff would be nice for crusing, but you will either have to get shot of it or try and find a dogleg.

You will be doing over 100mph in third with that combination.

The sport box is nice with the 3.9 diff.

Thanks for the posting bozys.

But it was to late for me to pull out ive already bought it!!!
the way i see it now is chuck it in .
My car is a 325i convertible it has not LSD fitted so should improve grip no-end. and i can't see my standard diff would be any better on pull away
I have 6 branch, superchip, high lift cam etc etc.
Comments welcome people...........

How much are doglegs worth? Would it be worth getting one fitted? I heard they were the nuts...

Yeah i had one and sold it for £180 cos the midrange speed which is the 4th gear was completely shagged, it wouldnt go in gear and the synchromesh was worn.. it would have costed more than the box is worth!!! you wont like the drive of it cos od the gearing 1 is down and second is up and so on, its just hard to get used to i hated it, and there not that much different that of standard box its just you run out of gears quicker as it compensates for higher gearing and a quicker response, and you do see the petrol go also :D the 5th gear will take you up to 125-130 mph so realiy economical is crap but for 0-60 racing and for the track its what you 100% need... otherwise 5 speed standard is as sweet as my pedegrees!!

Yeah its not about the fuel etc.
I only used it sunny weekends before (Not many of them then)and will continue to do so after its full cosmetic surgery !
But to be honest i want to try a dogleg box in it for this summer with the new diff i bought!!! 3.15
So if anybody nows of a good box let me Know.

P.S how do i get picky up of car like u bozys!!!!!!
